What happens on Sunday

Sunday morning is when we all gather to celebrate our unity as the body of Christ – a unity that is bigger than our differences.

Days & Times

The church service starts at 10 AM Sunday and usually goes for about 1 hour.

You are welcome to stay for morning tea which is served in the adjacent hall. We’d love to get to know you over a cup of tea or coffee.

Our shared lunch follows the church service every month, usually on the first Sunday.

Welcome

When you arrive you will be greeted at the entrance and shown to a seat.

Welcome packs are available that contain information about our church and its activities.

Bibles are available in the foyer. You are welcome to bring your own Bible in your preferred language and format or use an app for your mobile device.

Style

Our gatherings are respectful, but informal and relaxed. Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in, noting that the main auditorium can be warm in summer and cool in winter.

The service involves having the Bible read and explained in a talk, prayer, singing songs, and weekly announcements. Both adults and children participate in the service in a variety of ways.

There is also an opportunity for the regulars to make financial contributions towards the activities of our church.  Unlike other countries, the church does not receive government funding. There is no obligation for visitors to contribute.

We share communion every month to remember Jesus’s death for us. To make this practice accessible to all who believe we serve gluten-free bread and non-alcoholic grape juice.

Readings from the Bible are normally taken from the New International Version® (NIV®).

Spoken Languages

We are a multicultural church that seeks to welcome and reflect the diversity of our local community. With so many different cultures present in our church family, we have chosen to use English as the main spoken language during the church service. However other languages are encouraged and often used during the service, for example, in prayer and Bible readings.

Kid’s programs

All ages are together for the start of our time together, but midway through the service the children move to the adjacent hall for their own programs which include lessons from the Bible and craft. Your children are welcome to join in.

Kid’s programs run during school terms and are suitable for toddlers, preschool and primary school aged children. Activity packs are available for children during school holidays.

The leaders of kid’s programs hold the Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance to work with children.

Facilities

The rear of the auditorium is reserved for families with babies and young children. Toys suitable for infants and toddlers are available for use in the auditorium.

Musical instruments are available for children of all ages to play along with the music.

Infants are welcome to remain in the auditorium during the service, although there is a parents’ room located to the right of the foyer should you require it.

Toilets are available at the rear of the property.

A hearing loop (T-coil) is available in the auditorium for the hearing impaired.

Both the auditorium and hall can be accessed by persons using a wheelchair, but may not meet contemporary standards. Please ask for assistance on arrival.
